How To Build A Powerful Web Presence
How good is your personal Web Presence? By "web presence," I mean your over-all exposure on the internet. One way to find out is to ask yourself these questions:
1. Google your name. Are you on the front page? Second page? Or are you M.I.A. (Missing In Action!)
2. Do you have a Facebook account? Is your profile complete? How many friends do you have? How many do you add on a daily and weekly basis?
3. Do you have a Twitter account? How many people follow you? If you didn't even try, how many people would follow you per day? (Meaning, how many natural followers do you get every day?)
4. Have you published any articles online? How many? Do they drive traffic to sites that make you money?
5. Do you have a Youtube account? How many videos have you published? how many times have they been viewed?
6. How much revenue to you receive every month, just from the Internet? Less than $500? $1,000? $10,000 or more?
7. How big is your marketing list? If you were to send out an e-mail to every single prospect you have, how many people would get it? 100? 500? 5,000 or more?
8. Do you have a blog? How much natural traffic does it get? How often do you up-date it?
These are just a handful of questions, but they reveal a lot.
If you don't like the answers to these questions, the bad news is you're behind the curve. Marketers all over the world are developing their web presence, and increasingly your customers will buy from them, simply because they can't find you.
The good news is a lot of your competitors are still messing around with gimmicky, expensive "tricks" and quick-fix, temporary solutions that don't provide long term, sustainable results. So if you focus on building a powerful web presence now, it will be in place for years to come, and your reputation, list buidling, and income will grow every single day until you reach your online financial goals.

Web $73.28 High Quality Content by WIKIPEDIA articles WEB is a computer programming system created by Donald E. Knuth as the first implementation of what he called literate programming : the idea that one could create software as works of literature, by embedding source code inside descriptive text, rather than the reverse (as is common practice in most programming languages), in an order that is convenient for exposition to human readers, rather than in the order demanded by the compiler. WEB consists of two primary programs: TANGLE, which produces compilable Pascal code from the source texts, and WEAVE, which produces nicelyformatted, printable documentation using TeX. RESTful Web Services $31.99 "Every developer working with the Web needs to read this book." -- David Heinemeier Hansson, creator of the Rails framework "RESTful Web Services finally provides a practical roadmap for constructing services that embrace the Web, instead of trying to route around it." -- Adam Trachtenberg, PHP author and EBay Web Services Evangelist You've built web sites that can be used by humans. But can you also build web sites that are usable by machines? That's where the future lies, and that's what RESTful Web Services shows you how to do. The World Wide Web is the most popular distributed application in history, and Web services and mashups have turned it into a powerful distributed computing platform. But today's web service technologies have lost sight of the simplicity that made the Web successful. They don't work like the Web, and they're missing out on its advantages. This book puts the "Web" back into web services. It shows how you can connect to the programmable web with the technologies you already use every day. The key is REST, the architectural style that drives the Web. This book: Emphasizes the power of basic Web technologies -- the HTTP application protocol, the URI naming standard, and the XML markup language Introduces the Resource-Oriented Architecture (ROA), a common-sense set of rules for designing RESTful web services Shows how a RESTful design is simpler, more versatile, and more scalable than a design based on Remote Procedure Calls (RPC) Includes real-world examples of RESTful web services, like Amazon's Simple Storage Service and the Atom Publishing Protocol Discusses web service clients for popular programming languages Shows how to implement RESTful services in three popular frameworks -- Ruby on Rails, Restlet (for Java), and Django (for Python) Focuses on practical issues: how to design and implement RESTful web services and clients This is the first book that applies the REST design philosophy to real web services. It sets down the best practices you need to make your design a success, and the techniques you need to turn your design into working code. You can harness the power of the Web for programmable applications: you just have to work with the Web instead of against it. This book shows you how. |

Foundations of Web Technology $235.55 Over the last few years, Web technology has grown so rapidly that it is hard for interested readers to learn and keep up with the techniques. It would be extremely useful to have a single book that collectively describes not only the underlying areas from which internet technology derives its solutions, but also details the specific solutions to important applications on the World Wide Web. Foundations of Web Technology covers the basics of Web technology while being specialized enough to add value to experienced professionals working in this field. Most books on the Web focus on programmatic aspects of languages such as Java, JavaScript, or description of standards such as Hypertext Markup Language (HTML) or Wireless Markup Language (WML). A book that covers the concepts behind the infrastructure of the Web would be indispensable to a wide range of audiences interested in learning how the Web works, how techniques in Web technology can be applied to their own problem, and what the emergent technological trends in these areas are. Foundations of Web Technology ranges from fundamental areas such as information retrieval and data markup to applications such as web search, instant messaging, mobile access and web services. It assimilates the different technologies that make up the foundation of Web technology. After reading this book, one will be able to grasp the fundamental techniques that power the Web and be able to apply them practically towards building internet applications, in addition to gaining deep insight into the latest research in this relatively new field. Foundations of Web Technology will be useful for a number of years to come since Web technology has matured considerably, and the concepts discussed in this book will continue to be applied universally. Foundations of Web Technology is designed to meet the needs of practitioners and researchers in industry, and as a secondary text for upper undergraduate and graduate students in Computer Science and Engineering. |

Web 2.0: A Strategy Guide $19.99 Web 2.0 makes headlines, but how does it make money? This concise guide explains what's different about Web 2.0 and how those differences can improve your company's bottom line. Whether you're an executive plotting the next move, a small business owner looking to expand, or an entrepreneur planning a startup, Web 2.0: A Strategy Guide illustrates through real-life examples how businesses, large and small, are creating new opportunities on today's Web. This book is about strategy. Rather than focus on the technology, the examples concentrate on its effect. You will learn that creating a Web 2.0 business, or integrating Web 2.0 strategies with your existing business, means creating places online where people like to come together to share what they think, see, and do. When people come together over the Web, the result can be much more than the sum of the parts. The customers themselves help build the site, as old-fashioned "word of mouth" becomes hypergrowth. Web 2.0: A Strategy Guide demonstrates the power of this new paradigm by examining how: Flickr, a classic user-driven business, created value for itself by helping users create their own value Google made money with a model based on free search, and changed the rules for doing business on the Web-opening opportunities you can take advantage of Social network effects can support a business-ever wonder how FaceBook grew so quickly? Businesses like Amazon tap into the Web as a source of indirect revenue, using creative new approaches to monetize the investments they've made in the Web Written by Amy Shuen, an authority on Silicon Valley business models and innovation economics, Web 2.0: A Strategy Guide explains how to transform your business by looking at specific practices for integrating Web 2.0 with what you do. If you're executing business strategy and want to know how the Web is changing business, this book is for you. |
