Where be the case of Thailand
The following is various information about some of the most popular tourist destinations in Thailand and a number of other places. I tried to provide summary information on each field, and mention some things Most interesting to do there at the bottom of the list of all the kind of info that I think may be useful in making the Worthwhile. First of all holiday, communication is a major concern in this part of the world, yes, here are some common terms for you to start ... ..
Baht - 1). The currency Thailand.
2). The unit used to measure the weight of gold in Thailand.
Khao Sarn - The name of the main road in the backpack infested neighborhood of Bangkok, but did you know that in Thai means "rice paddy".
KB - Thai for the island.
Khun Kop - Thai to thank you!
Ta - Thai for the port or wharf.
Teeruk-Thai for my darling.
Wat - Thai for temple.
Developed cities with different places and events here include: Bangkok, Phuket, Pattaya, Ko Samui, Chang Mai, Udon Thani Cha Am All of the above
locations have airports with the exception of Pattaya and Cha Am (there are in Hua Hin)
Bangkok
Bangkok is a city that never sleeps a city with a real energy that can fool you, take a firm hold of you and in some cases, refuse to let go! Bangkok is not a city of endless attractions and museums must see, but a city that you visit to feel the atmosphere. Bangkok has an energy rarely found elsewhere. To the uninitiated, it may appear like any other big city dull gray, but if you persevere, exploring the city can be a rewarding experience.
Before you decide to go on all things to explore, I'm sure its nice to get decent housing. Some of the hotels / resorts offering the best value Oney can be found here As for the attractions and interesting things to see and do in Bangkok go, are a handful. The old part of town, which is the area near the river, not far from Khao San Road is where you will find many most culturally and historically important buildings and temples. It is part of the city which is actually quite pretty. For many, the highlight of the area east of Great Palace (Wat Pra Kaew), the most culturally significant of all Buddhist temples of 40,000 + Thailand. The dress code is strictly enforced entry - You should not wear something short or shirt.Sort handles above and behind the Grand Palace is Wat Po, which is preferable for the Grand Palais. The temple other large in this area is Wat Arun, the more likely the most photographed temple, or elsewhere, location, throughout Bangkok. Wat Arun temple is fascinating just over the Chao Praya River in the Grand Palace and Wat Po.The tallest building in Bangkok is the Baiyoke 2 Tower that dominates everything else. It is located a few hundred meters from the Central World Plaza in a busy park Pratunam market. The tower is approximately 300 meters in the sky and from the top on a clear day at least, you have a good view of Bangkok it is a bit dated, but still interesting
Snake Farm in the heart of the city. Located on Rama 4 Road in the Red Cross compound, it has a show that is presented in English and Thai. Also in Lumpini is one of two main stages of the city of Thai Boxing, Lumpini Stadium. Rather than go for a ringside seat, I think it is much more fun sit in the grandstand with the Thais and watch them play. Lots of fun! The ancient city, known as Muang Boran in Thai, located at a fair distance from downtown Bangkok, is another great attraction, in fact, the word is not really good it justice. It is truly a photographer's dream. There are a number of different companies offering dinner cruises on the Chao Praya River. Some of these offers are for a buffet dinner and some are à la carte.
Advantages: The Thai capital is less about tourist attractions - Although there are many, but more about the ambiance. Nice people who are easily excited like to have fun - and their attitude and joy can be contagious.
Disadvantages: It is a dull, gray city with terrible traffic problems. It is also home to many people who prey on tourists of scams different. You will not be beaten on the head, but you could get dressed up in your money.
The Bottom Line: Worth a few days of your time!
Phuket
It was the beautiful island of Phuket, which first attracted me to the Kingdom of Thailand. In fact, when I Thailand got my plan was to go to Phuket and to a position teaching English there, but for some reason it never happened and I found myself in Bangkok.Phuket is one of the top destinations in the world for beach holidays and ranks alongside Côte d'Azur, the Mediterranean and places as Hawaii, where people are happy to support up to 24 hours the discomfort a plan for the promise beach vacation par excellence.
Phuket is an island connected to the Thai mainland by a bridge, and is located about 1,000 km from Bangkok There are many beaches around the island province of Phuket, but by far the most developed is the beach of Patong. Patong Beach is the tourist center where all nations of the world meet. Here you find many, many, many more Indian and Italian restaurants that you do Thai restaurants, which proves how touristed place is Patong has become.Patong nightlife capital of the island, not very different from Pattaya, but smaller. For nightlife of Phuket, Patong is centre.South Patpong Beach Karon beach is my favorite beaches of Phuket. 3 km of soft white sand gently lead down to the beautiful Andaman Sea. While prices of accommodation increased in a manner similar to those of Patong, Karon prices are more attractive than Patong.South Karon Beach Kata Beach, a beach a little smaller which is not a private beach for the Club Med believe. This as some people, like Karon beach is another really beautiful and a great place to spend the day do you water under sun.Accommodation hot Thai restaurants are a bit cheaper than other beaches. It is certainly much quieter and less bustling Patong. .
There are many options available for day trips Phuket. Two of these in particular are very useful. The trip on the first day is recommended that takes you Phang Bay and the so-called James Bond Island. The second day trip which is very useful for breakfast is over paradise as island of Phi Phi.
Advantages: Beautiful, diverse island with a little something for most people. Some beautiful beaches. One day, SUPERB trips available, including Phi Phi Island and Phang Bay.
Disadvantages: Phuket is not cheap. Many Thais very tired of working in tourist areas of Phuket. Local transport far too expensive. Food prices, especially some of the restaurants in major hotels targeting Westerners, are expensive.
The Bottom Line: If you want a comfortable beach holiday with all the comforts Western Phuket is the place for you.
Pattaya
Nowhere on earth can you find such a well-developed tourism industry where sex is such a big part of it, as you can in Pattaya. It is located 150 km southeast of Bangkok.Once you reached Pattaya you will find a place to stay and if there is one area where Pattaya really excels in a wide range of very affordable housing, such as the Dusit Resort, the Marriott and Sheraton. But it is in the midrange where housing Pattaya is the best value for a few money. There beaches in the area of Pattaya. The first and most popular beach is the beach of Pattaya. Over the hill to the south east of Jomtien Beach which is very popular with Thailand, especially on weekends, and north of Pattaya beach and are Nagleua Wongamart, both of which are popular with older people in Europe, particularly German language (which means not only Germany but also Austria and Switzerland) Naglua Beach, just north of Pattaya Beach. Pattaya Beach. Well, that can I say? It's your typical beach crescent-shaped, perhaps 3 miles long, and is one of those tracks that is just long enough that you can walk a across without taking a break and without being bored or are moored tired. There many fishing boats relatively close to the beach and then we can understand they have a life to win, they can be quite an eyesore. On the hill in Pattaya, Jomtien Beach is a most beautiful beach of Pattaya Beach, and a quieter area.Being next to the sea and home to many fishermen, the sea is obviously very much in Pattaya but I must say I much prefer Hua Hin for good, cheap seafood.
The sunset in Pattaya: There is a reasonable shopping mall in Pattaya called Royal Plaza and another mediocre called Mikes Department Store. On the top floor of Royal Plaza is a multiplex cinema, amusement games and diverse style fair and a Ripley's believe It Or Not Museum. It is a good place to spend an hour wandering in the air conditioned comfort away from heat.
Advantages: Near Bangkok and therefore both cheap and easy access. Very reasonably priced accommodation and easy to move. Good level of reason number of British tourists in high school. The most reasonable prices of popular Thai beaches. good seafood as well as many very good, reasonably price restaurants.
Disadvantages: Prostitutes are everywhere - although it will appeal to some. Beaches are far from being the best in Thailand. British hooligans and lager the Russians have discovered Pattaya - and there may be tensions at times that some people consume too much alcohol - and prove they can not manipulate the fights.
The Bottom Line: It really depends on what you want a holiday, but frankly, if you're not interested in going a holiday and a local meeting to have as a companion to travel, among other things, Pattaya may not be for you. If a reasonable price, the beach is really nothing special at all. Yet there is a very pleasant atmosphere on Pattaya.
Ko Samui
Ko Samui, once known as an affordable destination and a paradise for backpackers, is the second largest island in Thailand. You can reach Ko Samui on Thai Airways on a flight is just under a hour. There are several flights between Bangkok and Samui each day. You can reach the island by land travel from Bangkok to Surat Thani by road then take a boat across.Samui is dominated by two beaches, Chaweng Beach, which is the largest and most popular beach and Lamai beach, which is a few miles south and also very popular, but perhaps a little quieter because it is smaller and has fewer places to stay that the highly developed Chaweng. There are other places around the island, including the Big Buddha and Bophut Samui infrastructure is yet to come along and for many it is one of the great appeals of the square.
Ko Samui is close Phangnan and not far from Ko Ko Ko Tao is Phangnan Phangnan is where many backpackers find themselves these days, a small island which is a short boat ride north of Samui. Nothing on this page, at this stage as I've never been there. He arrived at the house of the Full Moon Party parties when everyone all night and ridicule on the dope and all sorts of other illicit substances and dangerous - is not really my idea of fun, but many people seem to have a real explosion there. Ko Tao is considered one of the best places for diving in Thailand, although again, I never been there.
Advantages: Nice beaches. A nice atmosphere, not too quiet but not too developed. Still affordable - but for how time?
Disadvantages: Getting there Bangkok is a little expensive. Too many backpackers argue that paid less than this or that.
The Bottom Line: A good alternative to Phuket. It is not as developed as Phuket, which may or may not be to your taste.
Chiang Mai
Tourism is an important part of the local economy and the city of Chiang Mai is set up very well for visitors. Accommodation is available in all price ranges, but there is not many places that flash in the center of the city. If you are looking for lots of 5 star options, you will not something like the range of properties that are available in Chiang Mai Bangkok. In there's lots to see and do. The town itself is pleasant with many temples and there are some very impressive temples outside the city, including Doi Suthep which for me is probably the most impressive temple I've never visited. It is in my mind a must-see attraction if you visit do to Chiang Mai. Another popular trips is Doi Inthanon, which is the culmination of Thailand.
Firstly, time is much better, is fresher (but that depends on time of year) has less pollution and the night he was really cool. Second, the food in Chiang Mai is a bit different from what is available in Bangkok. Apart from the Khao Soi kind of crispy noodles in a mild curry. The people in Chiang Mai are much friendlier, more polite and generally a whole more enjoyable that local people in any other part of the country. The northern Thailand, including Chiang Mai is the center, has done a lot better preserve the country's culture, and even the region, all other parts of the country and Chiang Mai is the place to go to celebrate major festivals like Songkran and Loy Thai Kratong. It is ironic that it took seven years of life in Thailand before I did in Chiang Mai for the first time. It's something I want to fix and a long stay until there is much in order! I only spent two days there and then my report on this part of the country is relatively short.
Advantages: Very well set up for tourism, affordable, nice people, nice environment and lots to see and do! It is much more a cultural visit Bangkok.
Disadvantages: I can not think of everything, but some might consider a little quiet compared to Bangkok.
The Bottom Line: Well worth a visit!
UDON THANI
In addition, 100 kilometers on the road to Khon Kaen, Udon Thani is a smaller provincial capital which proved very popular with Westerners in recent years and even has a thriving scene farang bar. The city of Udon does not major tourist attractions, or at least none that I'm aware. The attractions are in provinces outside the capital of the province and include national parks and Ban Chiang, a site where a large number of fossils and relics have been found and declared to be a place of archaeological significance. A friend who visited was not that impressed, but that said, I was not myself. In downtown Udon there is a large shopping mall with greater dynamism than any other shopping malls in major centers of Udon. Here you'll see a lot more Western than elsewhere in the Isaan, Some are tourists and some are locally based. I imagine that most go to the mall with their Udon teeruk. This is where most of the off risk Udonites the weekend and I can not imagine what they think of opening establishments that directly target farangs, bars and restaurants.Food Udon Thani is very good. Western rave about the Irish clock, a small Irish bar where I have not tried it yet. There is also a very, very good restaurant Italian Roma Piccolo is superb. It is located just outside of downtown, on the road after Big C. It's worth out of your way!
Cha Am
About 25 km north of Hua Hin on the way to Bangkok Cha Am, a beach that you will read curiously less on guides and brochures of Hua Hin, but at the end this week seems to be almost as busy if not busier than its better known neighbor, Hua Hin itself.Cha Am is a long beach which is very popular among Thais and increasingly popular with Westerners. It is very popular with Thais in Bangkok and the Thai Inside the country who flock en masse to their great advantage weekend. The Cha Am Hua Hin above is that, generally speaking, Cha Am Thai attracts tourists who are a little more price-sensitive than Westerners. This means that things are cheaper. So if you are price sensitive, then Cha Am offers beautiful Thai resort at very reasonable prices.
Advantages: Cheaper than Hua Hin, especially in the case of housing lower end.
Disadvantages: The beach is not really special.
The Bottom Line: An alternative to Hua Hin.
Ko Samet
Ko Samet is located some 200 km from Bangkok and the word "Ko" means, it is an island. If you are from Bangkok, you should go to Pe Bahn where most Ferries leave from the continent, to Ko Samet or Samet Island as it should technically be in English.Ko Samet can be reached Bangkok in about four hours and there are a couple of different ways to get there. Once Pe Bahn, take a boat on the continent. There are a number various piers with boats from the different bays of the island - if you need to know what part of the island you want to go to.Samet is small and there is very little industry on this issue outside of tourism, fishing and basic services for both tourists and residents. With of the island in mind, much of what is sold on the island must be made in the mainland, which means prices Commodities can be much higher on the island than on the mainland.Samet can get very crowded on weekends, especially long weekends, when Bangkokians escape the madness of the capital and the rooms can be difficult to find. Samet is one of the few places in Thailand I would not head to do without a first reserve as there are only a limited number of places to stay, and there is even less Bahn Pe, on the continent.
Advantages: No too far from Bangkok and relatively easy access. The beautiful beaches on an island paradise. low level of development - relatively.
Disadvantages: not a huge amount to do it - but some consider the bonus. Accommodation is expensive for what you get. It can get to work during the high season and the beach can get more run.
The Bottom Line: Paradise is only four hours from Bangkok. A bit expensive given the poor infrastructure, but a nice place that appeals to some and not others.
