Fitness has become a trend these days. Hence, people use different types of equipments and perform various exercises to remain healthy. Weight training uses weights to increase strength and develop specific muscles using specialized equipment.
Weight plates are usually round metallic units; made of cast iron, steel, cement-filled plastic or other heavy-duty metal; weighing from 1 to 25 kg and more. Weight lifters use weight plates to add resistance to dumbbells, barbells and plate loaded weight machines.
Weight training helps to strengthen our bones, prevents osteoporosis, increases muscular strength and improves endurance. Selecting weight plates for weight training depends on your strength and training requirements.
Standard Weight Plates

Select a weight plate that provides a firm and tight grip, such as plates with hollow sides that function as handles; or ribbed plates to avoid slipping. Choose rubber-encased plates as they serve as a protective coating; are more durable; and also offer a reliable grip for sweaty hands.
