Gallimimus was a theropod dinosaur that lived in the region which is today known as Mongolia. It inhabited this region during the late Cretaceous period, between about 75 million and 70 million years ago. The first fossils of this animal were discovered in the early 1970s, and the name, which means "fowl mimic" was chosen in 1972 by Rinchen Barsbold, Halszka Osmólska and Ewa Roniewicz.
Gallimimus was about 13 feet (4 meters) long, and probably weighed around 60 pounds (27 kilograms). It is noted for its hollow bones, which are somewhat similar to those of modern birds. These hollow bones, along with other adaptations including long limbs, a long tibia (shin bone), a long metatarsus (the long bone in the foot), and short toes, all, particularly in combination, tend suggest that Gallimimus may have been a fast runner.
Gallimimus is also noteworthy for having a relatively long snout, which ended with a beak, and arms that appear to have been adapted towards digging (rather than grasping). This has led some scientists to suggest that Gallimimus may have lived on a diet of other dinosaurs' eggs - these eggs would have been buried in sand, and Gallimimus would have been fully capable of digging up these eggs with its arms, and then cracking them open with its beak. This is not of course the only theory about Gallimimus' diet - an alternative theory is that Gallimimus may have been an omnivore, and perhaps eaten small animals, insects, and even plant material, as well as, perhaps, dinosaur eggs.

Shin Jingi no Hakaba - Subtitle Dolby $12.99 For his fifth or sixth film of 2002 -- one easily loses count -- Takashi Miike adapts Kinji Fukasaku's 1975 gangster classic Jingi no Hakaba about a doomed love affair between a renegade yakuza and his long-suffering girlfriend. Whereas the original film was set in the poverty of Japan's immediate postwar era, this work is set during Japan's yen-flushed bubble era of the 1980s through the economic malaise of the 1990s. The film opens with Rikuo Ishimatsu (Goro Kishitani) coming to the aid of crime lord Sawada (Shingo Yamashiro) with guns a-blazin' in a slick Chinese restaurant. The grateful godfather makes Ishimatsu his under boss, though he quickly establishes himself as a loose cannon with a hair-trigger temper. His first meeting with his future common-in-law wife Chieko (Narimi Arimori) is short and violent: He rapes her in a hostess club. Not only does she not press charges, but she falls for the brute. Later, Ishimatsu is thrown in jail for killing a loan welsher where he becomes friends with Imamura (Ryosuke Miki), a lieutenant in a rival gang. When Ishimatsu finally gets out of stir, both Sawada and Chieko are waiting for him. He quickly rises the ranks of the gang power structure, only for him to blow it over a misunderstanding over a ten-million-yen loan. Ishimatsu's temper gets the better of him, and causes harm to all close to him. ~ Jonathan Crow, Rovi |

Shin Splints $63.73 Please note that the content of this book primarily consists of articles available from Wikipedia or other free sources online. Shin splints is a general medical term denoting medial tibial stress syndrome (MTSS), a slow healing and painful condition in the shins, usually caused by exercise such as running, jumping, swimming, cycling, dancing or other sports. Ten to fifteen percent of running injuries are shin splints. The most common sources of shin splints are tendinitis, periostitis, stress fractures and compartment syndrome. Many cases of shin splints may be due to inappropriate footwear. The onset of shin splints is most common after exercise, caused by high impact training, excessive training, poor technique or biomechanical problems such as pes planus (flat feet) or pronation. Shin splints are also a common problem in military recruits during training. Some studies have suggested that shin splints are more common in women, but this may be caused by decreased physical fitness and smaller muscle size. Standing for long periods of time and wearing highheeled shoes may also induce shin splints.
