Resistance Bands Exercises - 3 Insider Secrets for Strength Training
What are the best strategies to use in your resistance bands exercises? In this article you will find out some of the best ways to use fitness bands in your strength training workout.
Resistance bands are a fun, simple and convenient way to get a good strength training workout. The best part about fitness tubing is that they are completely portable. You can take into your office and get an a workout on your lunch hour, or when on vacation you can still workout and save yourself time and money going to the local gym. And of course, you can use in the home anywhere because they don't require a great deal of space.
Just a quick note, there are usually three goals in most individuals work out routines.
1. Increase muscle size
2. Develop greater strength
3. Greater muscular endurance
It makes sense that each one of the strategies has a different way of training. It is very important you decide early on what is your primary goal. Understand one thing though, you can build greater muscle size without having increased strength. Once that decision has been made, the rest is easy. For greater muscle mass perform a 12 repetitions, strength can be developed in the 6 to 8 rep range. And if your goals to increase the endurance in your muscles perform 12 or more repetitions of each exercise.
Well, now we understand some of the advantages of fitness bands training, let's get to the meat and potatoes of this article.
Best Three Strategies In Resistance Bands Exercises
1. It is very important when using resistance bands to perform the movement slowly in the eccentric phase. For example, a bicep curl the eccentric phase is when you are lowering your hands. According to scientific studies there is greater muscle growth during the eccentric part of the movement.
2. Keep your rest times to within 45 seconds to one minute if your exercising for greater muscle size. For strength training rest for one minute to one half minutes.
3.Don't workout the same muscle group more than twice per week. So for example, if you exercise your chest muscles on Monday, you can do a second chest workout on Saturday. However, make one of the workouts a heavy workout and the other a much lighter workout (in terms of resistance levels used.)
I'm going to include one additional bonus tip that I know will keep you motivated and support your fitness objectives.
If you don't have an MP3 player go out and purchase one. It doesn't have to be fancy one just one that has some decent memory. Download into a some exciting and motivating music selections. Some people use the Rocky theme however, you can pick more contemporary music choices. Just make sure you use music that energizes you. This is important on the days that you don't feel like working out. The music will ramp up your energy
And don't forget to log your exercises and the amount of resistance used. Of course record the repetitions, and number of sets as well. Keeping track of your progress will not only aid you in your workouts but it will also provide you with visual evidence of your strength gains that you're making with your resistance bands exercises.
