Rash vests, also commonly referred to as a rashie or rash guard, are skin tight, one piece outfits that are usually made from polyester, nylon, or spandex. These outfits usually cover a person's torso, upper arms, and thighs. The purpose of rash guards is simple: to be a lightweight outfit that protects the skin from chafing or scratching while the user is engaged in water sports. Rash guards are different from wetsuits insofar as they are not designed to provide warmth. Their only purpose is to protect your skin from the elements.
