The use of Bag Mitts

Bag Mitts are extremely useful for fitness and boxing training. They are light weight and perfect for use on speed balls, punch bags and hook and jab pads.

Boxing is a great workout for all athletes who require good upper body strength, working the arms, abs, chest and shoulders, and with bag mitts you'll be sure to stay comfortable.

When using bag mitts, it is important to ensure that you wear hand wraps if you are punching a hard heavy punch bag. The beauty of bag mitts is that they are extremely quick to put on and take off. Unlike sparring gloves, there are no Velcro elasticised cuffs which means that you can move round the gym/boxing club and take off your bag mitts quickly to change from one exercise to another.

Bag Mitts can be made out of several different materials but tend to be made with either a leather, PU or suede outer and a classic piping detail. A good quality bag mitt is well padded with foam padding for protection and comfort. Bag mitts are also ideal for boxercise which can provide a real upper body workout and a good burn. In this instance a bag mitt can be more for the fitness enthusiast instead of the serious boxer as bag mitts tend to be cheaper. Youth's size bag mitt sales have increased dramatically over recent years as schools have realised the benefits of some form of boxing to keep children fit.
