Skiing in France is a popular way to spend the winter holidays - and when it comes to resorts, Val d'Isere has to be one of the best whether you're a beginner or a pro.
The high-altitude resort is situated in the part of the Alps that juts into the Rhone-Alpes region in south-eastern France.
It is well-known for being where Jean-Claude Killy first learned to ski, as well as for hosting various Olympic events and skiing championships.

An onsite leisure centre offers further scope for sports and relaxation, including indoor climbing, gym workouts, swimming, a sauna and massage treatments, among other things.
