Pole Dancing Tips and Tricks For Fun
Pole dancing has become a new and progressive form of exercise. There are many moves that beginners can master, as well as poses which are difficult and demanding for the more experienced dancer. It makes you feel fit and sexy at the same time. Pole dancing improves strength and endurance, toning your arms, thighs, shoulders and abs. It can improve your self-confidence, self-esteem, body image and shape. It helps to burn calories, improves flexibility, rhythm, and is loads of fun. For the beginner, having a pole is a great excuse to gather your friends around for a laugh and a great night in. For the expert, the pole is useful for practice and new routines. Whether you're a beginner or expert, a few tips and tricks will help you have a more safe and enjoyable workout.
Tips and Tricks
1- To minimize injury or strain always remember to warm up and cool down before and after exercising. You will be doing exercises which use muscles which are rarely used so warm up is very important.
2- Sexiness is optional, but baring your skin will allow you to get a much better grip on the pole with your arms and legs so that you can perform moves safely. Also, shave your legs, bare legs are a must for gripping the pole.
3- It helps to wear light runners to practice for beginners until you feel more confident with the moves. They will help with gripping and control.
4- Music is very important in how you feel. Choose something that gets you up and makes you move. Music that makes you feel sexy will inspire more confidence in seduction.
5- Practicing with a friend is very helpful for encouragement, inspiration and techniques. It also adds to the overall enjoyment of your exercises.
6- Training in front of a mirror will help to ensure proper posture and poses.
7- If you are a beginner, where loose fitting shorts and a T-shirt. If you are performing, wear something that makes you feel confident and sexy.
8- For climbing the pole, beginners and experts alike wear stripper shoes (wide synthetic platforms) or PVC boots for better traction.
Warnings
• Always be sure to check with a doctor before starting any new exercise routine to ensure that you are fit and healthy enough to start this physically demanding exercise.
1- Since the advent of detachable poles, your debut as a pole dancer can be as exclusive as you want it be. To prevent your experience from turning into a disaster, ensure your pole is fitted securely according to the manufacturer's instructions. Always give yourself and others a lot of space and ensure that there is nothing to obstruct your movements.
2- Some poles are just for posing. These are called 'toy' poles. Do not attempt pole dancing on these, they are not built to actually hold your weight and attempting to dance on them may result in a severe injury.
3- Never wear oils or lotions when pole dancing. These will make the pole slippery and hazardous. Before you start, you may need to wipe down the pole to remove any grease or sweat.
4- If you are dancing in a club or gym, always wipe down the pole with an antibacterial wipe before your set. You just never know where the other dancers have been.

25 Tips and Drills for Coaching Pole Vault (DVD) $39.99 With Pat Licari,University of Washington Jumps CoachIn this comprehensive Tips & Drills DVD, Coach Licari presents 25 teaching tools for coaching the pole vault. Licari believes that a successful vault begins with proper pole carry and approach. The standing tip drop and the marching pole carry are excellent fundamental drills that are taught and demonstrated. The initial steps are developed with the mini hurdle pole run drill. Sled pulling conditions the athlete and works on the driving and pushing action. Licari next details the proper pole carry position by showing hand and shoulder position. He then shares the three-step plant and breaks down each step culminating in the pole at its highest position above the head. Planting the pole is taught through the marching plant drill followed by the three-step approach drill to execute a proper pole plant. Long jumping is part of the short pole drill with an emphasis on the leg action and the take off mechanics. Licari's "over the tip" exercise, assists the vaulter to accurately determine the position of the hands on the pole. Power comes from the chest drive and Licari shares several drills to increase strength when the pole is planted. The stall technique is used in drill work to emphasize high hands and chest drive. Using rings, the athlete works on the rock back motion and quarter turn. He finishes with horizontal vaults and the short run vault drills. 41 minutes. 2007. |
