Teeter Hang Ups Ep-950 Inversion Therapy Table Reviews

I have a herniated disk (L4/L5). Through a painful process of elimination I purchased the Teeter Hang Ups EP-950 Inversion Therapy Table from Amazon and I can tell you it is a great well designed product.

The pain process involved Chiropractors, MDs, and a PT, in that order. The Chiropractors were not interested in returning me to health, only in revenue generating visits. The one Chiro who at least understood how to heal a disk proposed a 6 week program of spinal decompression costing $5,000. Said my insurance would cover it. Not! So, I went to my MD. He prescribed PT with oscillating spinal decompression. That worked and was paid for by insurance. But, after the 3 month session ended, in 4 more months, my problem returned (though with slightly less pain as originally) even though I continued the PT regimen. I concluded that the decompression was the deciding factor.

On the advise of my PT therapist I purchased the Saunders HomeTrac Deluxe through Amazon. I received it, set it up, and tried it, a very poor design. First, the upper torso wrap detached from the torso platform at the Velcro location when only at 60 lbs. The unit's supposed to produce 200 lbs of traction. Not! Second, the tightening straps were not anchored to the harnesses, so when pulling to tighten about the upper torso and the hips, the straps would rotate about the body and prevent the necessary snug fit. Third, because the straps could not be tightened snug, the hip harnass would pull off my buttocks and drag any clothing with it. So, I removed all my clothing, which produced a better pull as the harness stuck better to my skin, but causing the First problem. So I returned it!

As a last resort I purchased the Teeter Hang Ups EP-950 Inversion Therapy Table. I'm a mechanical engineer, so I liked putting it together and immediately appreciated the well made and well conceived design implementation. I'm 6-3 and 235 lbs. The instructional DVD was very well produced complete with warnings, optional exercises, etc. I tried it right away. The first thing I noticed is that my lumbar region let go just like when undergoing PT on the clinics lumbar traction device, without all the discomfort of the straps, all that set up time to get the harnesses just right, the motor noise, etc. Using a timer, I can even rotate myself between decompression/compression and supply the fluid/nutrient pumping action recommended by my original Chiro, then my MD, then my PT therapist.

This Teeter Hang Ups EP-950 Inversion Therapy Table is very well built, easy to use, and produces the decompression that I need to promote long term healing of my herniated disk. The day following the first use, I experienced less pain and tightness. Over the succeeding sessions, I migrated to full inversion, that's right, hanging only by my ankels, with no discomfort. I will be starting inversion PT exercises soon. Since using this device, my pain has disappeared. Soon, I hope to reduce sessions to every other day, etc. until I'm back to normal.
