Heart rate monitor watches are convenient to use. They can give you immediate feedback on your exercise intensity and let you know if you need to work out harder or if you need to slow down. The battery can be replaced by the user which saves them money from going to a dealer. The biggest complaint for this heart monitor is that the owner manual provides incorrect information. Another rate monitor by Timex is the Easy Trainer Analog Heart Rate Monitor T5G941. This watch also performed well in tests conducted in Britain. This monitor is very basic and designed for beginners. It sells for an average price of $40. It doesn't show calories burned or training zones but many users feel like this watch is a "steal" at this price.
The Polar FS1 is the most basic heart rate monitor watch available by Polar. It's average price is $60. A chest strap is used to track rate and specific zones can be programmed with an audible alarm. The Polar FS1 is designed for beginners. For those that are more advanced exercisers, the Polar FT60 is much more than a monitor. It works like a personal trainer and actually motivates you to exercise and maximaize your workout. This watch also tracks calories and calculates your training zones according to your own personal level. This monitor receives high reviews for its' reliable and accurate readings. The battery can also be replaced by oneself. This watch is expensive with an average price tag of over $200.00. For additional money one can a PolarFlowlink which will download information from the watch to the computer. If this monitor is too pricey for you the Polar FT6 will give you much of the same features for training but for just over $100.
The Mia Motiva is designed for those who dislike wearing a chest strap. To get a heart rate reading you place your index and middle finger on the face of the watch for a few seconds. The disadvantage is that your reading will not be continuous and you may have stop your workout whenever you want to see the data. While strapless heart rate monitors are usually discouraged from experts, the Mia Motiva has gotten some positive reviews. Calories are tracked in addition to heart rate. A backlight, timer and additional watchband are also provided. The watches come in petite and regular sizes as well.
