I dont know about you but I am tired of driving to the gym in the freezing winter months. I was looking for a better way to work at home and found the Iron Gym to be a delightful surprise. Well the Iron Gym is basically a chin up bar for the home with a throng of uses. It's also quite versatile in that you can use it by either placing it in your door frame or on the floor for some great floor exercises or again as it was meant as a standard chin up bar. We are going to report some of the advantages and disadvantages of using the Iron Gym in this segment of As Seen on TV Reviews.
So what are the advantages of using the Iron Gym? Well first off the assembly takes about 10 minutes and is pretty straight forward and after its assembled you never have to assemble again. Scrap the screw mounting the Iron Gym doesn't need to be screwed in to ruin your wall or doors! For some of us who are a little gravity challenged or are looking for multiple ways to work out the upper body there are thre different grip positions neutral, wide, and narrow. Shock the muscles with the different grip positions! Afraid your so big you wont ever be able to work out? The Iron Gym is rated and tested for up to 300lbs, so no worries. The Iron Gym will also stay firm while you are doing your pull ups or ab exercises so no wiggling. The instruction manual not only covers assembly but workout tips and usage tips ranging from style of workout to general tips on how to start your work out plan.
So what is amiss with the Iron Gym you ask? Dips and other triceps exercises might be a little bit of a difficulty with this chin up bar. If you are looking for an extremely wide grip pull up then its stuck at the width of your door frame so nothing dramatic there if you door is small. If you are short your legs will dangle and you get to jump up to the bar just like you did in school but if you are little bit taller than most than you will have to bend your legs a little bit to get the clearance for proper form.
Now for some great pointers to make your Iron Gym incredible pull-up bar experience top notch. Measure your door width and your door frame molding width. you want to make sure that your door frame is between 5 1/2 inches and 6 inches thick as well as the door frame/molding to be at about half an inch wide or more because the total bar length is about 37 inches wide. You also want to make sure that you have everything properly assembled so that the Iron Gym doesn't feel unsteady but be careful not to over-tighten the bolts that go through the plastic brace. Some users thought that it looked like it would be easy to strip bolts from brace. And finally as with anything that suspend you in the air workout with caution and be careful and mindful of your own safety.
Overall I think the features of the Iron Gym is vast from various forms of pull ups/chin ups to sit ups to even allowing for some triceps dips exercises if you are clever enough to get the height just right. Here is to your health and your strength and conditioning!

It currently houses a modern exercise facility featuring cardiovascular, resistance, and strength training equipment.
