Every woman wants to have the perfect looking body. Those that are extremely committed know that a good exercise routine and a proper diet are the two keys to staying healthy. While men usually focus on acquiring muscle mass and general appeal to show a strong body, women usually need to focus on form as well as strength. Women exercise and eat right to get their bodies so to stay healthy as well as have a beautiful appearance. People that focus on these goals are real female bodybuilders.
The Different Focus of Men's and Woman's Workouts
An exercise program that is designed for women is almost the same as the ones for men. Many of the basic exercises and the muscles targeted are the same, with the difference being the result. Due to a variation in physiology, men and women have different alterations in their body when doing exercises.
Men and women both produce testosterone, but men produce much more of it. This hormone has an anabolic effect on your body that must be realized in any program a woman chooses. This hormone lets you develop muscle mass, muscle strength, as well as bone strength and density. Due to the fact that men secrete more testosterone, they will have an easier time building muscle mass than women.
This doesn't mean women cant get muscle mass. It just means that womens bodies are modified differently which becomes a more sculpted and toned body rather than an extremely muscular one.
What Exercises does a Female Workout Include?
Men and women both have similar exercise programs: exercises for the lower body to work the quads, gluteus, hamstrings, calves, and lower back; workouts for the biceps and back to develop back thickness, back width, shoulders, and central back muscles; workouts for the chest and shoulders that include exercises such as presses, chest and shoulders isolation, and shoulders and triceps isolation.
A good workout regimen for women has emphasis on weight loss. Just as men, women should always make a schedule with the help of a professional or a coach. Begin with easy exercises and get into the more advance exercises slowly so that you don't hurt yourself from beginners enthusiasm.
Program Suggestions
Women have a natural tendency to store fat, whereas men don't as much. Because of this, exercise regimens for women usually have more cardio than mens do. Cardio exercise keeps the heart rate high and allows more calories to be burned.
Women also need resistance training; its resistance that lets muscles grow. The more the weight used for the exercise, the more the resistance, and consequently, the more muscles grow. However, the increase in weights must be done gradually and progressively.
Warming up before a workout is always necessary as it gets your blood flowing, helps stop injuries and boosts performance. Most programs will always start off by running on the treadmill for a few minutes which provides a very good warm up.
