When it comes to treadmills that cost around $1,000, Smooth Fitness has come up with a model that is a better value than most other treadmills in this price range. The new Smooth 5.65 treadmill is bound to be as successful as its predecessor, the Smooth 5.45!
According to Smooth Fitness, the Smooth 5.65 model is an improved version of the 5.45 model. The Smooth 5.45 had a good reputation as being durable and dependable. It also had a good service record...meaning that, unlike a lot of treadmills in its category, this one didn't constantly break down and require repairs. If this is any indication of the quality of the new 5.65 treadmill, then one would have to presume that the Smooth 5.65 will also be a quality machine.
What Does the Smooth 5.65 Treadmill Have to Offer?
Although I wouldn't recommend the Smooth 5.65 treadmill for hardcore runners, its 2.5 HP continuous-duty motor is plenty sufficient for walking and easy jogging. Even when the user works at higher speeds or on a steep incline, this motor should be quite reliable and should operate without dragging. Note: Smooth Fitness backs all its motors with lifetime warranties, believing that these motors are built well and should require little, if any, maintenance.
In addition to having a good, dependable motor, the Smooth 5.65 treadmill comes with some other desirable features, including:
- 20" x 55" Walking Surface - The walking area on this treadmill is adequate for most users to exercise comfortably. If, however, you're extra tall or have really long legs, you might feel a little confined on this treadmill.
- iPod/MP3 Docking Station/Speakers - This feature has become popular on most current treadmill models. It's a nice feature to have for those of you who enjoy working out to music or audio books.
- Cooling Fan - Although the cooling fan puts out only enough cool air to hit the upper torso, it still helps to make workouts a little more bearable.
- Toggle Switches on Handrails - These switches are conveniently located on the handrails and make it easy to adjust the speed and incline without having to interrupt your pace.
