Exercise addiction can be a tricky condition to diagnose. As many see exercise as a healthy habit, it can be difficult to see when one's desire to keep fit has been taken too far. Also, the positive reinforcement that people receive from their changing physique becomes a catalyst for going overboard. In our society, perfect bodies are shown everywhere in the media. Chiselled men and super-slender females are the aesthetic that most people wish for themselves. However, there is a difference between wanting to achieve a healthy, attractive body, and becoming obsessed with getting rid of every little flaw.
What is even worse is that, with exercise addiction, people tend to notice body flaws that are not even really there. A main reason for this is that one's appearance is rarely the only problem they are having. It is usually just a place to focus their energy and a way to gain control over some other aspect of their life that is causing dissatisfaction. The most unfortunate part about this obsession to keep fit is that the exercise is not the underlying problem. Even if the habit is broken, the compulsion might just be replaced by something else, starting the cycle all over again.
There is also a physical component beyond the psychologically addictive qualities of over-exercising. Physical activity, particularly the kind that those with exercise addiction engage in, releases chemicals in the brain that makes the person feel good. The most commonly talked about instance of this is the "runner's high". Just as any other addiction that can make us temporarily feel better, such as alcohol or drugs, exercise can keep us coming back for more. Also, the repetitive actions and the hyper-focus required for physical exertion can act as a way to drown out uncomfortable thoughts and numb our emotions. However, this strong desire to keep fit ultimately causes more problems.
Using exercise to distract ourselves from our real problems might work in the short-term, but never completely makes them go away. For this reason, people start to work out harder and more often in order to further push away the things that make them feel bad. Therefore, it is important to find a way to tap into what is truly driving this need to keep fit. A successful way to do this is through hypnotherapy, a process that speaks to the underlying issues that are causing us to engage in such extreme behaviour. By working on the real problem causing exercise addiction, one can be released from this detrimental cycle.

Declarations of Dependence $39.95 Through an examination of the pleas and petitions of ordinary North Carolinians, Downs contends that the Civil War redirected, not destroyed, claims of dependence by exposing North Carolinians to the expansive but unsystematic power of Union and Confederate governments, and by loosening the legal ties that bound them to husbands, fathers, and masters. |

Physical Dependence $109.93 High Quality Content by WIKIPEDIA articles Physical dependence refers to a state resulting from chronic use of a drug that has produced tolerance and where negative physical symptoms of withdrawal result from abrupt discontinuation or dosage reduction. Physical dependence can develop from lowdose therapeutic use of certain medications as well as misuse of recreational drugs such as alcohol. The higher the dose used typically the worse the physical dependence and thus the worse the withdrawal symptoms. Withdrawal symptoms can last days, weeks or months or occasionally longer and will vary according to the dose, the type of drug used and the individual person. Physical dependence can manifest itself in the appearance of both physical and psychological symptoms but which are caused by physiological adaptions in the central nervous system and the brain due to chronic exposure to a substance. Weak Dependence $84.95 This monograph is aimed at developing Doukhan/Louhichi's (1999) idea to measure asymptotic independence of a random process. The authors propose various examples of models fitting such conditions such as stable Markov chains, dynamical systems or more complicated models, nonlinear, non-Markovian, and heteroskedastic models with infinite memory. Most of the commonly used stationary models fit their conditions. The simplicity of the conditions is also their strength. The main existing tools for an asymptotic theory are developed under weak dependence. They apply the theory to nonparametric statistics, spectral analysis, econometrics, and resampling. The level of generality makes those techniques quite robust with respect to the model. The limit theorems are sometimes sharp and always simple to apply. The theory (with proofs) is developed and the authors propose to fix the notation for future applications. A large number of research papers deals with the present ideas; the authors as well as numerous other investigators participated actively in the development of this theory. Several applications are still needed to develop a method of analysis for (nonlinear) times series and they provide here a strong basis for such studies. |

Declarations of Dependence (Hardcover) $65.99 In this highly original study, Gregory Downs argues that the most American of wars, the Civil War, created a seemingly un-American popular politics, rooted not in independence but in voluntary claims of dependence. Through an examination of the pleas and petitions of ordinary North Carolinians, Declarations of Dependence contends that the Civil War redirected, not destroyed, claims of dependence by exposing North Carolinians to the expansive but unsystematic power of Union and Confederate governments, and by loosening the legal ties that bound them to husbands, fathers, and masters.Faced with anarchy during the long reconstruction of government authority, people turned fervently to the government for protection and sustenance, pleading in fantastic, intimate ways for attention. This personalistic, or what Downs calls patronal, politics allowed for appeals from subordinate groups like freed blacks and poor whites, and also bound people emotionally to newly expanding postwar states. Downs`s argument rewrites the history of the relationship between Americans and their governments, showing the deep roots of dependence, the complex impact of the Civil War upon popular politics, and the powerful role of Progressivism and segregation in submerging a politics of dependence that--in new form--rose again in the New Deal and persists today. |

Oil Dependence $105 Oil consumption is increasingly concentrated in transport and relatively limited fluctuations in transport demand can have increasingly significant effects on oil prices. This Round Table assesses the policy instruments available to address oil security and climate change and examines their interaction with measures to manage congestion and mitigate local air pollution. A number of incompatibilities and trade-offs are identified underlining the importance of integrated policy making. The report includes an examination of the factors that drive oil prices in the short and long term and a discussion of the outlook for oil supply. |

Dependence Modeling $143 This book is a collaborative effort from three workshops held over the last three years, all involving principal contributors to the vine-copula methodology. Research and applications in vines have been growing rapidly and there is now a growing need to collate basic results, and standardize terminology and methods. Specifically, this handbook will trace historical developments, standardizing notation and terminology, summarize results on bivariate copulae, summarize results for regular vines, and give an overview of its applications. In addition, many of these results are new and not readily available in any existing journals. New research directions are also discussed. |
