An Introduction To History Of Tai Chi Fighting
The Tai Chi fighting technique is an internal Chinese martial art that is mainly useful to the physical as well as for the mental side of body. Throughout various exercises, particularly the Nei Kung as well as the chain of hands (which is the most famous art), Tai Chi causes the spirit and the body a soft and gentle experience, it goes to the reasonable posture and to harmonious movements. Tai Chi causes the body a better resist to disease, and to better self-control, all within the background of a martial art, that can be protective for them.
An "external" type of martial art (like karate) employs strength rather than tension of the muscles, at the same time as an "internal" martial art makes use of force after the effective organization of the body and the intention, that leads to the "Chi" (the internal breathing, energy, and blood).
The Tai Chi fighting art goes very distant back in history, for the reason that it was founded by Chang San Feng, who was a Taoist monk born in the 14th century. It is said that he was motivated by watching a fight between a snake and a crane. There are endless links with tradition and history of China, including some other Chinese martial arts as well as the Chinese medicine. In the course of the history, Tai Chi was divided into a number of schools. The best identified are the Yang, Wu, Chen and Sun Hao schools. In each of these schools, a “style” represents the teaching of a specific master.
The Tai Chi Chuan Association (Wudang Style) teaches the Tai Chi Chuan Wudang style, and also the exercises of the Chi Kungstyle (Xian Jia) Ba Duan Jin (which means eight pieces of brocade). The Chi Kung style ( "the work of the internal energy") is an all-purpose name for a set of exercises that are using postures and movements, in combination with breathing and meditation in order to stimulate the "chi" flow in the body.
The Tai Chi Chuan Yang Style type of fighting is originated with the learning form in 108 movements which have to be executed more or less gradually and this depends on the level of work. The same shape is continues at six various levels that can move toward to progressively internal work that is based on breathing with less strength of the muscles.
From the start, the practitioner has to learn 24 Taoist exercises for relaxation as well as a series of exercises that are intended for self-massage. Chi-Kong ( the energy of work) and the meditation are parts of the evolution. It quickly begins the basics of Pushing Hands (it is all about working in pairs). Numerous tests are executed on the these two movements of each form. This work greatly improves the energy circulation and breathing and it sometimes feels strange well-being. Some of the practitioners find even a positive development of different health problems.
Tai Chi can be preventive as fighting method and it is a technique that ensures long life. You might well be pleased with this aspect, but if you wish, you can improve and expand the fighting feature as well.

Each chapter of this concise volume focuses on a single work or philosopher, and includes a short history of each one as well as a description of their relevance to Tai Chi.
