Whats up guys. So you train MMA or some other martial art and you're looking for a training bag so you can practice your form at home. Its good that you're this passionate about martial arts.
So today I'm going to review the Century Wavemaster XXL Training Bag which is a 6' tall heavy bag with a water base. I'm not gonna call it a heavy bag, but a training bag, because it feels nothing like a heavy bag and shouldn't be confused as such.
The heavy bags at the gym are awesome. They're solid, you feel like you couldn't destroy them if you tried. Yet, they're also slightly malleable, it doesn't feel like you're hitting a bag of bricks when you pound on them.
Well the Wavemaster XXL Training Bag is quite the same. It doesn't have that "bean bag" feel but it does feel pretty nice when you hit it. Solid, doesn't move much, a good bag for training your moves and combos as well.
Look when you see a water bag like this, your first thought is "Alright now lets kick it over!" Good luck.
I've trained in Muay Thai and Krav Maga for the past two years and I have not been able to kick this thing over once. Sure, it wobbles, and yes, it moves too. But it doesn't tip over.
Thats the one thing I don't like about this bag. Its real. Newton's law: When you hit something, it goes somewhere. With the punches it doesn't move around all that much but when I kick it I have to reposition myself to hit it again because it moves a little bit.
This could be seen as a good thing if you want it to because in a real fight you have to be aware of your opponent's location at all times. They're not gonna just stand there and let you hit them.
Summarized, the Wavemaster XXL Training Bag is a pretty solid bag. I would recommend it if you have nowhere to hang a heavy bag up.

Yiquan, Martial Art $68.51 High Quality Content by WIKIPEDIA articles Yi quan, also known as dacheng quan, is a martial art system which was founded by the Chinese xingyiquan master, Wang Xiangzhai. Having studied xingyiquan with Guo Yunshen in his childhood, Wang Xiangzhai travelled China, meeting and comparing skills with masters of various styles of kung fu. In the mid1920s, he came to the conclusion that xingyiquan was often taught wrong, with too much emphasis on outer form, neglecting the essence of true martial power. He worked to return to what he felt was the true essence of the art using a different name, without the xing (meaning form), and began teaching and practicing accordingly.
