Blocks Blue Set

Do you plan on attending the Basilica Block Party 2010? I sure hope so; this is going to be one of the best 2-day concert events of the year. Here is what you need to know from the concert promoter, to the bands, ticket information and more. So let's get started.

First let me give you a little history behind the Basilica Block Party. The first Basilica Block Part was in 1995 and had over 15,000 attendees and raised over $100,000 for the restoration of the Basilica. This year 95% of the proceeds will go toward the restoration of the Basilica while 5% will be donated to St. Vincent de Paul outreach program to serve those in need.

Reverend Michael O' Connell has been leading the charge since day one. His goal was not only to raise money for restoration, but to also to bring more young people back into the church and it has been very successful.

When you think of concert promoters and events in the Twin Cities one name that will always come up is Sue McLean. Sue has been in the music business since the 70's. She has pretty much done it all from booking talent for local clubs and bars to putting on some of the largest events in the metro such as the Basilica Block Party and Subways Music in the Zoo Concert Series.

Cities 97 is a Clear Channel Station, which is a partner (sponsor) of the event. The On Air staff consists of some of the most knowledgeable music minds you can find from BT, Brian Oake, Lauren Macleash and Thorn, then you throw in Lee Valsvik with her humor and great interviewing skills you have a station that is a winner.

Single-night Pass: $40 (after June 30 the price goes up to $45)

Two-night Pass: $70 (after June 30 you can tack on another $10 bringing the total to $80 yoo.)

VIP: $150. Which includes free parking, catered food by Baker's Ribs and beverages in the VIP area only (Church stage only).
