Kick Boxing Basics
Kickboxing originated in Asia 2000 years ago. The modern kickboxing originated in America in 1970, the American Karate experts had organized competitions which involved full physical contact kicks and punches. These kicks and punches had been banned in Karate, owing to the safety concerns. However in these matches many padding, protective clothing and safety concerns were introduced thus giving rise to different forms of boxing over the years. This history sounds dangerous isn’t it but to move ahead, I am going to speak about the different benefits of the other forms of boxing like cardio kickboxing. The forms of kickboxing have different techniques and the amount of physical contact varies in different techniques.
These days one popular form of kickboxing is aerobics or cardio kickboxing. Aerobics is a combination of boxing, martial arts, and aerobics to provide in order to provide complete physical conditioning and toning. Aerobics does not include any physical contacts between the competitors it is practiced just because of its benefits like complete toning to the body.
Before you join any class, some of the basic guidelines you need to be aware about kickboxing are as follows:
Awareness about your current fitness level: If you are intending to join a kickboxing class then you need to be aware about your current fitness physique. Kickboxing involves high intensity stunts. It’s a form of exercise in which you require high energy levels, so it would be a bad idea for you to join incase you are hefty. It would be better if you can go in for an aerobics class or so and increase your endurance levels. For kickboxing as a beginner you should not exert yourself more, and try working with your own pace.
Have a view of the class before you join: for a class like kickboxing it is always better that you join after having an observation of one or two classes before and check out if you can match up with the speed levels. You can also try with the instructor to make in few modifications so that it could match up with the adaptability of the different people. Avoid classes that seem too fast.
Find the apt instructor: Try and find an instructor who possess a high level belt in martial arts and is a certified fitness instructor. Try and select a place which starts with a level suiting your need and moves ahead slowly.
Be comfortable: In classes that involve physical exercise the first thing that you need to keep in mind are the clothes. Wear clothes that are loose allowing your arms and legs to go freely in all directions. Where cross trainers shoes and not the tennis shoes. Drink plenty of water during the class to keep you away from dehydration.
Kickboxing helps you in keeping your body fit; you can burn 350 – 450 calories in an hour. It also reduces stress. So get into the class which would lead you to good health.

Kick $70.1 In martial arts, combat sports, and violence, a kick is a strike using the foot, leg, or knee (the latter is also known as a knee strike). This attack is often used in hand tohand combat, especially in standup fighting. Kicks play a great part in many martial arts, such as Taekwondo, Kung fu, Wushu, Karate, Kickboxing, Muay Thai, Capoeira, Silat, Sanshou, Vovinam, Kalarippayattu, and Savate. Some arts do not utilize kicks at all, such as judo and boxing. Other arts limit the use of kicks to attacks on the legs and lower body, while some sport martial arts tournaments only allow kicking above the waist. Various types of kick are described below, but the names used to describe a kick may vary between arts. Soccer Kick $70.1 High Quality Content by WIKIPEDIA articles The soccer kick is the colloquial term for a kick performed against a prone or supine opponent by a fighter who is in a standing or semistanding position, specifically to the head of the downed opponent. Though a foul when delivered to the head in the Unified Rules of Mixed Martial Arts which prevail in America, the technique was commonly employed in Pride Fighting Championships where it often spelled an imminent end to the contest by (t)ko, owing to the effectiveness of the technique. Notable practitioners of the soccer kick were fighters Wanderlei Silva and Mauricio Rua both of the Chute Boxe Academy, a famous mixed martial arts gym. There are still small MMA organizations that allow soccer kicks to the head of downed opponent. Author: Surhone, Lambert M./ Tennoe, Mariam T./ Henssonow, Susan F. B-Band Ukko-K Single Kick Drum Contact Microphone $99.99 The B-Band UKKO-K kick drum contact mic system is a remarkable way to capture the true tonality of your kick drum consistently, conveniently, and with extreme isolation. This system consists of two important components: the UKKO DMK preamp, built with high-quality class-A electronics, and the UKKO DST1 Contact mic for superb tone. This system will work with any size kick drum, and gives you high-resolution sound, and easy setup! This mic system was designed to be able to blend-in visually with the drum kit. That is why B-Band designed the DMK preamp to be chrome colored to match most drum hardware. It is an extremely lightweight system that does not add any noticeable weight to the drum, or get in the way while performing like most other drum mic systems. It also very robust and durable, and will endure rigorous touring.Setting up and tearing down have never been this easy. The DST1 has an adhesive back that mounts easily and discreetly on the inside of the drum shell near the batter head. The DST1 lead wire is fed through the drum air hole to the DMK preamp. The preamp mounts in the air hole outside of the drum, and was specially designed to not interrupt the flow of air as the drum breathes. Being as the DMK preamp is so small in size, there is no need to remove it to put the drum in its case, leave it on and be ready for the next gig or studio session. To better capture the low frequencies of the kick drum there are two mini switches inside the DMK preamp that contour the sound for a choice of tone. One switch controls a -6dB mid cut at 330 Hz and the other is for a +6dB high boost at 5 kHz.If you have a hole cut on your resonant head or if there is no resonant head on your kick drum, this will make the UKKO-K sound thinner. It is recommended to have a solid resonant head for maximum tonal quality.Extreme isolation of each drum with no bleed from other drumsMounts without modification to the drumReduces the need for audio gate effectsUltra-quick setupsNo need to position mics or mic stands; just plug a standard XLR cable into the preamp and playClean looks without the clutter of mic stands |
